Title: Production Supervisor

Basic Function: Oversees all aspects of production including elevator, process, rail and load-out operations on assigned work shift at the direction of the Production Manager.
Reports to: Production Manager
Supervises: Operators and Material Handlers
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Coordinates the daily activities performed by operators and material handlers to insure that production is completed within established quality, housekeeping, safety and environmental guidelines.
Makes work assignments to all shift personnel to effectively utilize their experience, training and skills.
Provides employees with resources and training to effectively and safely perform their duties and responsibilities.
Addresses plant operation deficiencies through CMMS.
Makes recommendations for improvements.
Listens to and responds to employee suggestions and concerns.
Communicates openly with all employees, providing regular performance feedback.
Keeps plant management informed of all matters affecting the plant, plant operations or the shift.
Works to maintain good communication and cooperation within the shift and across the organization.
Identifies training needs and discusses with Production Manager to develop a training plan.
Attends and participates in meetings and training.
Supports a “no blame” work environment where problems are resolved and learning is achieved.
Completes all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
Completes and presents employee performance appraisals.
Works safely, and insures the safety of the employees under their direction.
Understands that all incidents are preventable and reports all accidents and injuries when they occur.
Corrects safety hazards and unsafe conditions, and completes work requisition for those which cannot be corrected by normal means.
Qualifications:
Three years of supervisory experience.
One year of continuous process experience.
High school diploma

Physical Requirements:
The ability to work a 12 hour rotating shift schedule

The ability to:
Walk across uneven surfaces and grating continuously (67% to 100%).
Climb stairs and ladders frequently (34%-66%).
Work at heights up to 125 feet.
Frequently (34%-66%) lift and carry 10 lbs.
Occasionally (0%-33%) lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Stand for extended periods of time (30 minutes at a time 2 hours per shift).
Occasionally bend, reach, reach above shoulders, squat, kneel for 15 minutes, push or pull up to 50 lbs, twist/rotate arm, wrist and torso, and crawl 20 feet.
Occasionally perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.
Occasionally perform simple grasping and firm grasping.
Tolerate temperature extremes.
Tolerate an environment in which fumes, dust, gases, odors and mist may be present.
See, hear, smell and speak.
Wear a hard hat, steel toed shoes and hearing protection.
